WHY SEAL LAB ?
Seal Lab is a Shanghai-based creative studio connecting ideas, cultures, and craftsmanship.
Our name brings together two ideas from different cultural worlds.

“Seal” echoes the Chinese character “玺” (xǐ) — a seal traditionally associated with trust, authenticity, and significance. In Chinese culture, seals have long been an important part of art, literature, and identity. A seal is more than a mark; it is a token of trust and a physical expression of meaning.
“Lab”, on the other hand, is a distinctly modern, Western idea, represents experimentation, curiosity, and new possibilities — a place where ideas are explored, tested, and transformed.
Together, Seal Lab reflects what we aim to be: a bridge between Chinese craftsmanship and the international creative world.
We help publishers, authors, illustrators, and creative brands bring their ideas to life — in print, and beyond.
We are not a traditional printer. We approach every project with precision, curiosity, and a deep respect for craft, from books and printed works to custom merchandise and creative objects.
